If we had propositions and binding referendums, it would be great,
Our politicians wouldn't have to sit around so much and debate,
It would be closer to real democracy, which they don't want,
They'd rather continue to pretend and stay nonchalant.
We can't even vote for our prime minister by his/her name,
No wonder less than half Canadians vote in this game,
No death penalty for killers or death with dignity allowed.
We have Trudeau's Charter for terrorists, so we keep their heads bowed.
We don't have proportional representation or plebiscites,
But each MP has his/her own prerequisite party website,
We have no mid term elections or even set-date elections,
They can't close down the Insite drug clinic -- High Court protections.
