Can the mounties charge a senator for fidling with his/her books?
And are appointed senators so high up, they can’t be crooks,
Because they were appointed and avoided all elections -- they’re great,
And democracy was avoided and not up for
debate.
And our politicians are very reluctant to make these changes,
While the Ottawa establishment is busy on golf ranges,
So they delay and postpone pretending that they might be concerned,
And death-with-dignity is not mentioned so never adjourned.
Canada has a big problem that we’re reluctant to admit,
It’s the appointed senate red chamber trying to make it fit,
This disappointing lack of democracy doesn’t make sense,
Add that to banned assisted suicide and no need for pretence.
