Binding referendums and death with dignity upsets those who rule,
Therefore these subjects and questions are not considered cool,
And no political party will touch them with a ten-foot pole,
The aristocrats consider these subjects to be a big political hole.
The arrogance of their elite system has to be accepted,
Though the occasional scandal has therefore to be expected,
The Constitution can’t be changed because senators might lose their jobs,
And Canadians have to accept this like a punch in the gob.
So shut up and stay quiet and leave the elites to themselves,
Because appointees are the only ones who can ring the bells,
So you will never get your binding referendums, you fool,
And just because you are one of the people; you will never rule.
