Our parole boards are the crack in our Canadian armor,
Letting pedophiles and cop killers out of jail as charmers,
And the people don't seem to have a clue what to do in this,
Politicians are busy off travelling or having a piss.

Parole boards claim quality conditional release decisions,
Therefore there's no need for any drastic changes or revisions,
And they can't be questioned because they are like the church -- always right,
That should be enough to give sleepy Canadians a fright.

Parole boards are a walking talking reason for referendums,
The binding types like the Swiss have so take a memorandum,
Otherwise the politicians will dodge and find a reason,
To change nothing because they are busy in the hockey season.

The National Parole Board, though funded by us, is independent,
They're into release and pardon for a criminal defendant,
They are also into the business of clemency in a big way,
Which makes judges' already soft sentences tend to go away.

And politicians can't interfere with these decisions,
As pedophiles and cop killers walk free with little revisions,
Without binding referendums as the Swiss already know,
Canadians are caught in a dilemma that seems to grow.

Therefore we the people have no power or influence here,
We can't change a thing and are compelled to obey and adhere,
We need a constitution with binding referendums for us,
We should be running this show or kick up an awful fuss.

Parole boards don't like citizens sticking their noses in their stuff,
They are extremely powerful and want none of our guff,
Especially when they let pedophiles and cop killers walk out,
With pardons and releases and they never have the slightest doubt.

If parole boards were abolished completely it would be nice,
Unfortunately our politically correct politicians say "No dice!"
No compulsory voting so half Canadians don't vote,
Therefore independent parole boards will never be on remote.

We can't vote for our governor general or a senator,
Afraid of the slightest hint of being called a discriminator,
Being politically correct is the fashion and the fad,
All changes seem to be forbidden and that is completely sad.

Do those on parole boards give pardons to pedophiles in prison?
Are appointee decisions then kept secret with great precision?
Not designed for the protection of children but is it for friends?
Can released pedophiles then continue with their criminal trends?

Why have appointees on parole boards gone strange, to our chagrin?
As much power to forgive crime as pedophile priests to forgive sin,
Then with no respect, they allow cop killers to walk out of jail,
Where common sense and victims' pleas never seem to prevail.

These independent-agency parole boards gone around the bend,
Due to their absolute power, they never need to comprehend,
The Americans don't recognize our parole board decisions,
They know that we are long overdue for political revisions.

The Church Scandal

The bishop had a tall spiked ornate hat and a frown on his face,
He didn't seem to realize that the church was in disgrace,
He looked as though he was going to give some strange sinner hell,
From his big high ornate bishop's chair, he said everything was well.

The congregation will have to disregard the sex and the sins,
Forget the pedophile priests who are still lurking and win,
We just transferred them to another parish very far away,
Can't blame them just because they're priestly pedophile and gay.

It's just a human weakness that the church has to accept
And those media attacks were much more than we should expect,
We just can't send these poor holy pedophile priests to jail,
This is not how the church operates and we have always prevailed.

The Loony Left are at it again

The loony left have come out from under their rocks to demand change,
In the guise of Toronto Public Health drug strategy at this stage,
Funded from the Ontario HIV treatment network group,
This has been going on for over a year so we're out of the loop.

Drug addicts are now given needles instead of being sent to jail,
They feel that a new injection site is proper and would prevail,
Their research will focus on the impact of this injection site,
Have you ever read or heard anything so dumb in your life?

Is this a sign that we've all gone mad or lost complete control?
Or have certain politicians and their appointees sold their souls?
Catering to street drug addicts will have the wrong impact,
Just because they do it in Vancouver is no reason to react.

Improve our System

It is not possible to vote for our prime minister by name?
It is not possible to have set-date elections but who to blame?
Can't have propositions that the Americans seem to like,
Or referendums like the Swiss because our politicians dislike.

You will seldom read about these problems in the media,
They may or may not be listed in your encyclopedia,
We get an appointed governor general and old senators,
We need to change this system and be originators.

Will someone please write a real political Charter of Rights,
For normal Canadians and not only those on incoming flights,
Please no more political appointees in every fancy chair,
Canadians should elect them or reject them by name so take care.
