DEATH WITH DIGNITY PLEASE FEB 18TH, 2012

Death With Dignity Please Feb 18th, 2012
By
James Bredin

We should be able to arrange when, where and how to die,
Unfortunately our Supreme Court does not see eye to eye,
They can do it in many other places, so why not here,
Our righteous appointed aristocrats have nothing to fear.

Binding referendums and death with dignity, they refuse,
Those appointed from secret hidden lists are not amused,
Less than half of us vote and they want to keep it that way,
No compulsory voting for Canadians they all say.

Of course the churches are much opposed to these ideas too,
There are no more pedophile priest left, they say but who knew?
And no one knows for sure when our next election might be,
They’re all in a committee right now and we all have to agree.

WILL I BE ALIVE THEN?

WILL I BE ALIVE THEN?  FEB 17TH, 2012
BY

Are we like white Americans, going to be a minority too?
And it's all being predicted to happen by twenty forty two,
We may as well enjoy it; those of us who will still be alive,
Will I make it – a minority Irish Catholic – to 105?

And being Irish Catholic, I'm already in the minority,
But I've always enjoyed working with Canadian authority,
I have many grandkids now and hope to have many more by then,
If I fall asleep, wake me up again and again and again.

This is the result of the abortion-clinics High Court decision,
Fancy ladies stayed in fashion to avoid a baby collision,
While everyone overlooked the decrease in population,
But we got many other great minorities by immigration.

THINGS CAN'T CHANGE

THINGS CAN’T CHANGE IN CANADA Feb 23nd 2011

Binding referendums do not come easy to any land,
And even in most democratic countries, they are completely banned,
Like compulsory voting -- something politicians really hate,
They like first-past-the-post and no equalization debate.

And please don’t rock the boat with all that right-wing Internet stuff,
People might start to think and even vote and then huff and puff,
Because most elected politicians want nothing to change,
You can ask or e-mail or phone but nothing will be arranged.

We have elections now and then but that doesn’t mean a thing,
Half of us don’t bother to vote in this first-past-the-post sting,
Where equalization and referendums are completely banned,
Where multiculturalism has to be stamped on every brand.

SORRY

SORRY FEB 15TH, 2012

Our Supreme Court dressed in red like cardinals in Rome,
Look like pompous little aristocrats under a huge dome,
Making announcements and changing all the laws in this land,
With their red uniforms, they could pass for a jazz band.

They gave us abortion clinics and told Sue Rodriguez she could die,
And we can’t have binding referendums because they are quite high,
They were appointed from an extremely secret hidden list,
We don’t know them, can’t vote for them but we have to coexist.

And Trudeau’s international Charter for EVERYONE on earth,
Is how they base their decisions and no abortion clinic births,
And death with dignity is forever strictly forbidden,
Unlike Switzerland and Oregon but here, it’s all kept hidden.

CANADIANS MISSING OUT

CANADIANS MISSING OUT Feb 14th, 2012
By

Sad to say but eventually every one of us will die,
We cannot arrange the date and time and I don’t know why,
Because our pompous Supreme Court – dressed in red – decided,
Same pompous crowd said that abortion clinics should be provided.

Our problem is ourselves and our secret list of High-Court appointees,
Dressed like aristocrat pompous cardinals in red, if you please,
We cannot vote for them and we don’t even know who they are,
Ottawa aristocrats don’t want change anything so far.

Canadians need to be compelled to vote in all elections,
Or a fifty-dollar fine at all tax-time collections,
We also need binding referendums like the Swiss,
Because of all the stuff that we Canadians seem to miss.

THE BRIDLE PATH FEB 13TH, 2012

The Bridle Path Feb 13th, 2012
by
The Bridle Path is a fine posh place of big mansion houses,
Where rich folk from Switzerland sometimes stash their spouses.
The lawns are low and weeds don’t grow and the driveways long and curved,
And license plates from New York State can sometimes be observed.

But folk are few, don’t give reviews and the place is so sedate,
But lenses watch the garden gates and hedges hide the real estate,
But if you’re blessed to be a guest you’ll see the tennis courts,
And the girls in white, all sunshine bright, running at their sports.

It was in this fine place that I first perceived Pontius de la Clair,
A gardener and a servant man and a little in despair,
As he stood on a ladder, he seemed quite sadder and clipped the cedar hedge,
And told me about Switzerland and their house on a mountain ledge.

"I should have an electric clippers and a fancy sit-down mower.
"And a long-barreled leaf blower and a sheltered snow thrower.
"We travel the world wherever we like, to Zurich or Madrid,
"I’ve driven the Rolls with all that chrome to his every buyout bid.

I didn’t tell Pontius then, because it took me time to see,
And I didn’t want to pain his pride -- we were both bourgeoisie,
He was a servant and a spectacle, part of the deluxe display,
He was a lackey just like me, something serious to convey.

MORAL AUTHORITY Feb 12th 2012

MORAL AUTHORITY Feb 12th, 2012
By

Moral authority has been taken by our High Court and why?
When they told Sue Rodriguez with Lou Gehrig’s disease, she could die,
Their authority way above common law and common sense,
Self-made rules from god-knows-where but abortions -- no offence.

And Canadians, who seldom vote, paid little attention,
Media moguls didn’t think it was worth much of a mention,
We should be able to arrange when, where and how to die,
But abortion-approving High Court does not see eye-to-eye.

And politically correct politicians claim moral high ground,
Where the holocaust of unborn babies does not confound,
Another Supreme Court proclamation never spoken,
Or their secret code of silence on the issue, might be broken.
