THE SWISS HAVE BINDING REFERENDUMS

The Swiss have binding referendums so why are we forbidden?
In Canada and the US, this is an issue that is well hidden,
The media seldom notice this and why should this be strange?
The various establishments here and there, want nothing to change.

No Canadian politician wants us to be this free,
They're busy in Copenhagen at the moment and on TV,
So binding referendums will not be spoken about or arranged,
In fact nothing including Trudeau's Charter will be changed.

Unfortunately the people have never gone down this road,
It's risky and new and therefore nothing like this can be bestowed,
It has to be arranged and no one knows when where or how,
Therefore there's no chance that binding referendums will be allowed.

HUMAN RIGHTS AND CLIMATE CHANGE RELIGIONS

Are the human-rights crowd and climate-control crowd related?
Are these new religions or can any of this be debated?
Are they both the same, in that they are politically correct?
If we believe in one and not the other, will our souls be wrecked?

Will the Copenhagen negotiations change things around?
Where were the skeptics at this religious meeting to stand and frown?
What about those e-mails where they admitted that they lied?
Are they going to agree to enforced obligations worldwide?

Why did our politicians feel so obligated to go?
Was it just a photo opportunity or something we didn't know?
Would those who don't believe be considered as antagonists?
Or maybe somewhere down at the same level as atheists?

WE'LL PAY FOR COPENHAGEN

How can we get our pompous politicians to pay attention?
They have turned into isolated tax-and-spend extensions,
And spend most of their time traveling overseas having a ball,
Avoiding the mere mention of binding referendums or recall.

Why are they getting worked up about climate and greenhouse gases?
Though the "climategate" revelations are now known to the masses,
The mere idea of a scandal has been buried somehow,
In this new religion of climate-change that scientists espouse.

They are going to save the planet by taxing and spending a lot,
Copenhagen will be the reason whither we like it or not,
We have no binding referendums like the Swiss so they don't care,
The new religion of climate change is here so you should beware.

NO CANADIAN POLITICAL INPUT

We can’t vote for our prime minister and we don’t find this strange,
We can’t have binding referendums because they refuse to arrange,
We can’t have proportional representation because they don’t like,
Establishment Ottawa crowd busy on an exercise bike.



Can’t have set-date elections anywhere though they did pass that law,
Then they decided they didn’t like it and went and found a flaw,
We can’t change Trudeau’s Charter of Rights though some say we can,
Written for “Everyone” in the world according to Trudeau’s plan.



Can’t have political recall for useless politicians,
Who refuse to abide by their constituents’ wishes,
Party political decisions in cloistered committee rooms,
No need for public input here, Canadians seem to assume.
