Politicians want to stay elected and never get recalled,
Such an idea or suggestion gets them completely appalled,
It doesn’t matter how stupid or incompetent they are,
Or even if everything they say is completely bizarre.
They are in the business of staying in office – not change,
So for sure, binding referendums will never be arranged,
Proportional representation and death with dignity, gone,
Any of those suggestions would be immediately withdrawn.
Less than half of Canadians even bother to vote,
And our no-change politicians have all taken note,
Without recall or referendums, we’re not allowed to think,
They might decide and then treat it all with a delayed wink.
