I’d like to make an arrangement to die in twenty forty two,
I’ll be a hundred and five by then so I’ll be just about due,
And I want to go out using euthanasia of some kind,
At 2 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon would be just fine.
There are those of course, who are opposed to my euthanasia plan,
Particularly religious types and preachers to the last man,
Politicians too who are reluctant to make a decision,
No binding referendums so therefore no supervision.
If I die on a Thursday, with a Saturday for burial,
Easily arranged exit plan and nothing adversarial,
The Swiss have death with dignity and those in Oregon too,
Why is it that our politicians appear to not have a clue?
