This issue of death with dignity should be like religious stuff,
And not hidden by bureaucrats and never discussed,
As though we will never get sick and die; so there is no need,
But this is what they told Sue Rodriguez and we were obliged to heed.
Death with dignity is a health-care issue that should get our attention,
So the whole issue is kept under the rug out of sight,
And it should never be mentioned by you, by day or by night.
So the controversy and dissension may be somewhere else,
Not here -- maybe out in the woods among the bears and the elks,
So forget the whole affair and go home and be good,
Better obey the rule of law as all Canadians should.
