A NEW
CONSTITUTION June 28th, 2012
BY
I could
write a Canadian Constitution and get it right,
Though I’m
not a politician, a lawyer and not too bright,
We should
have set sentences for every criminal conviction,
Delete all
parole boards because they only cause social friction.
We should
have a different prime minister every year,
A different
provincial premier appointed without fear,
On New
Year’s Day each year from a schedule made up in advance,
No party
politics needed in this system and nothing by chance.
Our present
politicians will not like this new constitution,
They will
look at it as no less than a provincial revolution,
Almost as
bad as binding referendums or death with dignity,
Or maybe
proportional representation or other indignity.
