Appointees from the secret list don’t need to be elected,
To the Supreme Court or the Senate because they’re
connected,
As we watch this pantomime and nobody thinks it’s
strange,
And no one even bothers to ask; how was it all arranged?
The same thing for the Governor General, who rules the
roost,
And no changes to the system allowed or can be produced,
The complicated system instructions must be written
down,
In a Charter or Constitution and no one is allowed to
frown.
One of the reasons why binding referendums are banned,
Or why proportional representation is kept out of hand,
While aristocrat hierarchy close-knit Ottawa rules,
Democracy is even sometimes discussed for us fools.
