Our ongoing Senate scandal shows that something is very wrong,

With our sacred untouchable system and appointed throng,

Ottawa elite arristocrats until they are seventy five or die,

And how dare you think of change while they are still alive.

Appointed Canadian senators who don’t have to be elected,

Good job till they’re seventy five and they’re all well protected,

They’re part of an elite Ottawa establishment and enthroned,

Hidden in the Red Chamber Senate establishment almost unknown.

Where binding referendums are considered a mortal sin,

And those who want death-with-dignity are not allowed to win,

Like they told Sue Rodriguez as though they were all wise men,

While she was dying with painful Lou Gehrig’s disease back then.
