CANADIAN SMALL ELECTIONS … june 13th, 2014
BY
JAMES BREDIN
Canadians should have compulsory-voting elections
And all elections held the same day for the various selections,
But our party politicians are big on the present situation,
Therefor they see no reason to change it, in this peaceful nation.
It's the extremely low-turnout at elections that the parties like,
Larger compulsory numbers might force them to take a hike,
Therefore they praise and like the present election situation,
Wouldn't want to do anything to encourage a changed organization.
A twenty dollar fine for absentee voters could bring change,
Or binding referendums should be studied and arranged,
It's all democracy and many countries have it already,
Unfortunately our leadership don't want to appear unsteady.
