MORE MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT … July 24th, 2014

Members of Parliament should be allowed certain independence,
Instead of being in lock step and completely party dependent,
We need binding referendums and compulsory voting days,
And medically assisted death without constant delays.
The arrangement of an appointed Senate should be abolished,
Elect senators instead of just having the place demolished,
Tell those appointed until they are seventy five, to stay home,
Tell new elected Senators to stick to business and no need to roam.
These ideas are democratic though disliked by those in power,
They want to continue looking down from their ivory tower,
We could do it if we could find someone to rewrite the constitution,
Get the Queen to sign it and that could be our solution.
