If the politician you voted for, was not elected,
You have no representative in Ottawa though you may have protested,
And without referendums; your issues are out the door,
So much for democracy because you are now considered a bore.
If the Swiss have binding referendums, then maybe we should too,
And a referendum on death-with-dignity should come on cue,
But the Ottawa establishment want nothing to do with this,
You seem to think, we should have referendums, just like the Swiss?
And you don’t need to think about this because thinking is not allowed,
You have to show lots of respect and always keep your head bowed,
And at the next election; there’s no legal requirement to vote,
Consider yourself like the others, among a herd of goats.
