We need compulsory voting at all federal elections,
Then maybe slowly we might get the proper connections,
Then vote for Supreme Court and governor-generals in line,
And those absent get a twenty-dollar fine at tax time.
Then set-date elections every fourth year on fourth
Saturday in June,
The present establishment will deny these suggestions this
afternoon,
History has shown that those in power always want to stay,
And those who suggest otherwise must have gone astray they
say.
But Canadians need something to make us feel connected,
Maybe binding referendums and death with dignity expected,
It often seems that journalists are forbidden to write
about this,
Can’t have referendums or constitutional changes like the
Swiss.
