HAS QUEBEC SHOWN THE WAY? … JUNE 8TH, 2014
My upcoming death and I don't know when, where or why yet,
Though our politicians act as if this is not much of a threat,
And Canadian law forbids medically assisted death,
Nobody is causing a ruckus so there's no need to fret.
But the Province of Quebec has turned it into a provincial cause,
No one really knows the real reason -- just because,
They passed their Bill 52 and got medically assisted death,
Will it cause some high minded people in Ottawa to take a deep breath.
Will democracy eventually come a provincial way?
Is there another province out there that might say that's okay?
Is it allowed or will our politicians as usual just shut up?
Has Quebec shown that there is no reason to give up?
