Sadness Sadness Sadness
By
James Bredin

Our isolated party politicians seldom speak out of turn,
Their hidden party agenda is something we don’t know and can’t learn,
But someone in Ottawa should do or say something that makes sense,
So that we the people can appear to be not so dense.

Where without any set-date elections, we have to wait and wait,
Neither can we show any emotions here such as fear or hate,
And how do we go about getting a national alteration?
Or first-past-the-post replaced by proportional representation.

Are we a graphic illustration of a sleep-walking nation?
Without binding referendums or recall in desperation,
Should Supreme Court judges be feminist and bilingual too?
Legal abortions as you know or have I misconstrued?
