Being mayor of Toronto must be a terrible nasty chore,
With all those oddball left-wing groups trying to push you out the door,
Some media moguls making an issue out of this and that,
Pages of nonsense writing trying to stick a knife in your back.



I just hope you don’t back down to that well organized horde,
At their various committee meetings on this or that board,
The only thing I know about you is that you are not one of them,
You are with us standing far out in the suburbs amen.



We need a mayor who can see where the city should be going,
Where the subways, streets and highways are constantly growing,
But where the cost of operation has to be kept in check,
Or we’re in debt up to our eyes and turning into a wreck.
