Why do less than half Canadians even bother to vote?
Is it because our appointed aristocrats have us by the throat?
The Supreme Court decides what the government can or cannot do,
Therefore our elected politicians are stymied and don’t have a clue.
Why is it that most Canadians don’t know about this?
No binding referendums like New Zealand or the Swiss,
Abortion clinics here and there but assisted suicide banned,
Therefore Canadians have little input with those who rule their land.
Because the politicians we vote in, don’t have much power,
But the Supreme Court dressed in red do; so we don’t vote and just cower,
They refused government permission to close the Insite clinic down,
Made the government look like a bunch of political clowns.
