A Canadian weakness is that less than half of us vote,
Though politicians disregard this and are still inclined
to gloat,
And aristocrats are appointed by a very secret list,
They don’t need your vote so they extend their stay and
persist.
Binding referendums might get us out of this stupid
mess,
But politicians, aristocrats and media moguls run the
press,
Their propaganda never mentions mandatory voting for us,
Everything is absolutely grand and please don’t make a
fuss.
Supreme Court judges and senators cannot be elected,
They are appointed so their positions are protected,
So propositions to change Trudeau’s Charter are not
allowed,
The mere idea could put the whole country under a cloud.
