Dysfunctional Border Patrol

Politicians say they want to target human smugglers soon,
Maybe some day next year on a fine Saturday afternoon,
But maybe not because every smuggler has Charter rights,
Written by Trudeau long ago for all those left-wing delights.



Dysfunctional immigration system and boats of refugees,
Escorted in by our navy ships and we all have to agree,
Politicians say they'll change some laws but they don't know which ones,
As we wait for more refugee ships and many more reruns.



But they've scheduled another meeting and another announcement,
Convince us they're right with enough political pronouncements,
If we had binding referendums, we could force them to decide,
Wouldn't have to watch this national issue from distant ringside.
