Euthanasia could be a way out

Euthanasia could give us all an easy way out of this life,
Away from cancer pain and all kinds of other painful strife,
But church leaders and politicians all deny this and shout,
Therefore nothing will change much because they have so much clout.

We need politicians who will do what most of the people want,
Not some secret party agenda by some party commandant,
We need binding referendums designed for the voters,
And compulsory voting pushed by democratic promoters.

Journalists and media types avoid this issue like the plague,
If it's mentioned at all, it's on the back page and very vague,
And if you are reading this page, you are way off the beaten track,
Ideas not accepted by any elitist political hack,
