If they buy a house on your street
By
James Bredin

If the government buys a house on your street; you better look out,
Some strange homeless creatures may appear to be walking about,
But you have no say in this matter because you seldom vote,
You're a nobody living in a suburb that's remote.

None of this is said out loud because they don't want you to know,
To government bureaucracies, this is only a game show,
It's called a democracy but to them, that's just another word,
It's the hookers, the drugers and the drinkers they want to herd.

The new homeless shelter on your street is politically correct,
The quiet peaceful life of the neighborhood is completely wrecked,
And something else; the word "referendums" cannot be said out loud,
Ideas such as that are absolutely never allowed.
