Just to appease
By
James Bredin
If the government allows a cheap rooming house on your street,
You are your own worst enemy because you have to be discreet,
And eventually the hookers, the drugers and the drunkards arrive,
Nice people on welfare who never work though some of them drive.
And when the crimes occur, you don't dare even point a finger,
That would be downright discrimination and a big blunder,
Just because they hang out in the park with a bottle in bag,
You've seen their type before but usually on the main drag.
You are your own worst enemy because you seldom vote,
Like your friends, you could sell up and move to a place that's remote,
No binding referendums and a politically correct disease,
You'll do anything they want but say nothing just to appease.
