Are we locked into these conditions?

The smug chattering class are slowly beginning to realize,
And their Internet information might actually cause a surprise,
How else would they know that we are suffering serious pain?
Still parole board pompous bureaucrats look down on us with disdain.

As we suffer pain watching murderers being allowed to walk free,
As the justice system seems to tremble at their parole-board plea,
And politicians are either helpless or don't know what to do,
Or couldn't care less, locked into their party agenda but who knew?

We need to change the parole system and we need to do it soon,
Or ten more murderers may be free by tomorrow afternoon,
Change rules, regulations, laws, attitudes and pompous positions,
Could binding referendums get us much better conditions?
