What do the victims of crime say?
By
James Bredin
Somewhere hidden away, the parole board does bureaucratic stuff,
Like some strange religion, they never seem to get enough,
Silently quietly, they let criminal prisoners free from jail,
And for many others, they'll arrange a pardon or maybe bail.
The established and embedded parole boards have to be saved,
They are part of our elite establishment so you better behave,
And bow your head when you pass their door and show much more respect,
Like our Senate, they got an appointment and no one had to elect.
The Release Act should be cancelled by next month at the very least,
Otherwise it will be an unknown number of murderers released,
By an independent and authoritative parole board display,
And they are not interested in what the victims of crime say,
