A Day in the life of a repeat offender

By
James Bredin

Our statisticians have statistics everywhere up to the sky,
Scholars with letters after their names trying to figure out why,
And how did our justice system and the numbers get so screwed up,
Criminals on three or four bails killing and pulling holdups.

Our biggest problem is ourselves loving Trudeau's Charter of Rights,
That means everyone especially those involved in gun fights,
Repeat offenders are allowed to go in and out and on and on,
With bail and parole and pardons while they steal and kill till dawn.

With a list of breached parole conditions as long as your arm,
No equity lost in bail conditions so therefore no harm,
Except the people killed or sliced by this repeat offender,
But then legal-aid lawyers lined up to be his defender.
