Could our present politicians abdicate?

Our inept politicians allowed a peaceful invasion,
Only five hundred refugees on this memorable occasion,
Canadians don't seem to mind much or even bother to vote,
We'll be a minority soon; it depends on how many boats.

But would this improve our present federal system or not?
Could we get binding referendums, compulsory voting, the lot?
Will we vote for our prime minister by name when the time comes?
But as a minority will we live in the ghetto or the slums?

You can't ask questions because it's not politically correct,
Just read their propaganda and never never reflect,
The parole board let more criminals out of jail to celebrate,
Is there any chance that our present politicians could abdicate?
